Shower #1

My first baby shower for Blake was on Saturday, March 6th. My best friends, who were my bridesmaids five years ago, hosted the shower at Allyson's house in April Sound. It was so nice. They did such a great job. The food was wonderful, the cake was amazing, the decorations were very cute...I could go on. I am so blessed to have these girls in my life. We have all been friends since we were little girls, and we're all actually interconnected in different ways - became friends and have stayed close through different seasons in our lives. I don't know what I would do without them. They have been the closest thing to sisters that I have had and they are going to be amazing 'aunts' to Blake.

Showers are so overwhelming. I am constantly blown away by people's generosity and love. The girls were so thoughtful to think of the little things. They had people sign a sweet book that I can read to Blake called "wag!". They also had a little book where people could write notes/prayers/words of encouragement to us and/or Blake. I have really enjoyed reading all of them.

Opening gifts! This outfit was my brother's. I can't wait for Blake to wear it.
This was the outfit that my parents brought Chad home from the hospital in. My brother has no desire to have kids of his own. He prefers to be the favorite uncle :), so it's very special that he and my parents shared these outfits with me for Blake to wear. Of course we all cried (shoot, I'm tearing up just thinking about it!) and oohed and awed over how small and sweet these are.
This is where everyone was to sign in. The girls thought this sweet book "wag!". It's about a puppy and what makes his tail way...love! I have a stuffed bear that I've had since high school (he's actually sitting in Blake's crib right now) and his name is Wags. There's even a character in the book named Jules. People at the shower wrote me sweet notes in the front of the book that I can read when I read this book to Blake.

The cake! How beautiful is this?! And, if you can believe, it was even more delicious than it was beautiful. Seriously...I had to take it to work to keep from eating everything they sent home with me! -- On a side note: Jenna made these wonderful cake balls and Lance fell in love with them. Most of you know that Lance has been working out like a champ and has lost a considerable amount of weight. He's been very aware of what he (and I) eats but has allowed himself the weekends to splurge; however, he always has me clean all of the 'contraband' out of the house on Sunday so that we can start the week off right. Well, when I went to clean out and get things ready to take to work on Monday (the leftover cake) I asked him if he wanted me to take the cake balls. He said "No, I want to keep these. They're the perfect size." He never does this! That tells you how wonderful these things are :)
The cake balls!
Mom and I saw this gown in Canton and loved it! She bought it for me there, but I made her bring it to the shower.

Lance's sister, Crystal, came in from Austin for the shower. We laughed that she, Terri and I all wore purple! We couldn't have planned it better.

The Girls: Rachel, Jenna, Allyson, Mindy and yours truly :)
Mindy's mom came out and brought Cash for a little bit! Thanks for coming out, Janet!
Jenna and I! Will y'all check out my hot friend!? Seriously...Love her and can't wait to get my butt back in shape after Blake gets here. She's my motivation! :) I might even have to drive over to Kingwood in the evenings this summer (as soon as I'm able) to attend her Adventure Bootcamp! That is, on the nights when Lance isn't killing me with P90X! :)

Two of my dearest friends mom's are my mom's dearest friends...I love that! Mrs. Woodward (Allyson's mom) and Ms. Elaine (Jenna's mom) are like second mothers to me. Love them!
