Great Day Houston

Last Wednesday was Mindy's 27th birthday. Mindy wanted to do something fun for her birthday so she got us tickets to go to a taping of Great Day Houston! It was so much fun. I would recommend everyone experience it at least once. I met Mindy in Conroe (on time and with breakfast...to her surprise!) and then we met Suzy in The Woodlands. Mindy, Suzy and I have been friends since junior high (well, Mindy and I have been friends since 4th grade, but the three of us have been friends since junior high). I have lots of fun memories of going to church camp, experiencing lots of firsts with these two. Over the years we have all done our own thing, but we've managed to keep in touch through each other. Anyway, back to Great Day Houston...we got there early and were ready when they opened the doors. We soon met the very interesting, flamboyant and sassy little man who was to get us ready to enter the studio. At first he comes off very rude, but you realize pretty quick that he means no harm and is actually rather entertaining! It took a while to get into the studio and we figured we would be on the back row. Well, not only were we not in the back...we were front and center! It was so fun! Mary Lou Retton was the main guest on the show and those who know me from WAY back know I used to want to be an Olympic gymnast just like her! I had the American flag leotard and everything. At the end of the show we got to meet Deborah Duncan and have our picture taken with her. She was very nice! After that we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch and then to Market Street to do a little shopping. Can you believe Mindy & Suzy had never been to Market Street?!! We walked around for a while until Suzy had to get back home to her sweet kiddos. Mindy and I still had a little shopping fever so we went up to the Conroe Outlet Mall and shopped some more, picked up Cash, went to see Toby at work and then went to Outback for dinner with her parents. It was a full day, but so much fun. I can't believe I've shared probably 17 birthday's with Mindy! Crazy...I told her a long time ago that she was stuck with me forever and I don't think she really believed me :) Happy Birthday, Mindy! I hope it was everything you wanted it to be.
