Busy, Busy

What we've been up to since my last post:

- Lance and I went to the Newborn Care class at the hospital. It was a good class. They talked about all of the things we need to know about having a newborn including what will happen immediately after he's born (tests they run etc.), how to give a bath, how to change a diaper, swaddling etc. A lot of these thing I already knew, but it was good to go over them again. Lance did a great job changing his first fake diaper. It was pretty funny watching him with that silly doll. He was a good sport.

- Mom and I went to the Breastfeeding Basics class at the hospital. Yes, mom and I. Lance opted out of that one. It was fun to go with my mom. We both learned a ton! About halfway through I was on information overload (and exhaustion was setting in) but I'm SO glad I went.

- Saw my doctor for Blake's checkup. She said everything was great. My blood pressure, his heart rate and measurement were right where they were supposed to be. I've started swelling, but she said that's normal. I've also been having trouble with carpal tunnel in my right hand/forearm. This has been the worst part. I've been waking up in some serious pain, so I haven't been sleeping well. Add getting up to go to the bathroom frequently throughout the night and still fighting some head congestion & snoring issues that have caused Lance and I to sleep in separate beds and you get one tired, hormonal pregnant girl. The doctor suggested that I get a hand/arm splint to sleep in to try to help the arm. I told her I'd try anything! On the way home from the doctor I went to CVS and got a splint and prescriptions filled. I am happy to report that I only woke up one time last night to go to the restroom and my arm, although still ridiculously swollen, didn't hurt near as bad. I would say that's a success.

- Lance and I went to Baytown last night for a little meet and greet with Antron Brown. Antron is a driver that Matco sponsors for NHRA drag racing. We've met him several times at our annual Expo and he's a great guy. It was a lot of fun.

This weekend is going to be super busy! I'm heading out in the morning for a haircut and pedicure. Then off to Wyatt's 1st birthday party in the afternoon. I'm excited to celebrate with little Wy and see all of my sweet friends. I have a shower on Sunday in Sugar Land with my family. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. Mindy is going to go with me so I don't have to drive out there alone, and besides she's family anyway! I'm looking forward to getting to hang out with her, too. Oh...and that brings me to all of the fun news we've gotten lately. My friends are on round two:

Mindy is PREGNANT!!! Yay!! Baby H #2 will make his/her arrival sometime in late Oct.
Hayley is PREGNANT!!! Yay!! Baby F #2 will make his/her arrival sometime in early Nov.
Katie is PREGNANT!!! Yay!! Baby T #2 will make his/her arrival sometime in late Oct.

OK, that's all I can think of for now. I think I'm heading to bed. If I can get another decent nights sleep, I will be a whole new woman. We'll see...
