I know I've been a terrible blogger, but I have a good excuse :) There have been lots of fun things going on that I would love to have blogged about sooner, but this stupid carpal tunnel has kept me off the computer quite a bit. Even as I type now, my fingers are numb and my right hand (this one is worse than the left) is starting to ache. SO, I'm still going to keep this update brief. One day I will go back and add to this post. Here is a little recap on what has been going on since my last post:
- On April 10th I got to help my sweet friend, Emily, celebrate the 1st birthday of her son, Wyatt! I can't believe he's already 1! These boys are growing up too fast.
- On April 11th my sweet family (Aunt Lisa, Grandma, Kellianne and AnnMarie) threw me a baby shower in Sugar Land. It was so nice to get to see everyone from my family and Lance's and some of our dearest friends who are honorary family. Everything was so beautiful and we received so many nice gifts to welcome Blake.
- My parents went to Las Vegas for a weekend and got to see Cher and attend the Academy of Country Music Awards! I was SO jealous! They had a great time. While they were gone, I had a busy weekend of showers and parties.
- Lance and I attended the Prepared Childbirth class at the hospital and learned many new and interesting things about the 'joys' of childbirth.
- We survived a week of TAKS testing!!
- May 1st was the annual Matco BBQ. This year they were so sweet and threw a baby shower for me while the guys had their meeting, then we BBQed. Again, so incredibly blessed and thankful for such sweet, supportive friends who are anxious to meet Blake and showered us with love. I've been telling Blake that I hope he is a social bug like him mama because there are A LOT of people who are excited to meet him!
- May 2nd - Happy Birthday, Saige! I can't believe she's already 3! I remember the night/day she born like it was yesterday.
- May 7th was my last day of work! WOO HOO!!!
- May 8th I was able to celebrate with my sweet friend, Kara, and her new hubby, Charles, as they got married! I'm so excited for them. :) That night, Lance's mom came out and we went to dinner and got visit for an early Mother's Day celebration.
- May 9th I spent the day with my mom shopping and picking up last minute items for Blake and his room :) After a full day of shopping, she came back to the house and helped me wash sheets and get things organized a little more in his room. It was such a fun day!
My first week off was full of fun with friends and nesting :) My forgetful pregnant brain has taken over and I have not idea what I did Monday or Friday. I hope this is not a permanent situation! Ha!
- Tuesday, May 11th - Happy 1st Birthday, Davin. I had lunch with Sabra, Michelle and baby Avery in Spring. It was so nice to get to spend a little bit of time with them. We had a wonderful lunch and then I had to run off to my doctor's appointment. After the Dr. I met Ashley, Caleb, Leslie, Owen & Brittany at Pie in the Sky for a yummy dinner and catch up session then they came over to the house and helped me get Blake's room organized. We had so much fun! They are such lifesavers. It was such a special time getting to hang out with some of my bestest friends before Blake arrives. They also surprised me by getting me the diaper genie for his room!
Also, on Tuesday (I think) my sweet friend, Cheryl, delivered her twin boys 10 weeks early by c-section. Sullivan (Sully) and Camden (Cam) are doing really well! Please keep them and Cheryl and Chris in your prayers. They are working on gaining weight and getting stronger so they go home asap!
- Wednesday, May 12th I spent the day with Allyson and Harper! We at lunch at Vernon's and then ran around and finished up errands. Ally, thank you so much for driving me around and helping me with all of my chores. I felt so much better after getting all of that done. And, of course, Harper was such a trooper!
- Thursday, May 13th was my mom's retirement party at AHS. I drove out to Humble to be there for that and then came back. She has such sweet friends. They are REALLY going to miss her!
- Last night we went over to Bryan & Abby's for a wonderful crawfish boil with all of the Spring 'gang'. We always enjoy being with them so much. Every time we leave we have the same conversation about wishing we lived closer.
Now, I'm just counting down until my next doctor's appointment! Blake could make his arrival any minute (and you know I'm praying that he does!). Last week I was 3 cm and 80%. I see Dr. Sullivan again on Tuesday, if Blake hasn't made is arrival by then. At the last appointment, she went ahead and set up a spot for us at the hospital to induce on Wednesday, May 19th if he still hasn't come. We're planning to wait and see what she says on Tuesday before we make a final commitment about induction, but I feel like that is what we will choose. Thank you to everyone who has and is still praying for us! I feel like Lance and I are much more on the same page now about induction and feel confident that we will make the best decision on Tuesday. This is wonderful news because I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I would love for Blake to come on his own, but I would also love for him to come on the 19th because that is my cousin Brandon's birthday, too! I think it would be cool for them to share a birthday :) Hopefully Brandon doesn't mind.
Next time I update will probably be with news of our son's arrival! CRAZY!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Please keep them coming. I definitely feel them and am incredibly blessed by your intercession on our behalf.
