I'm calling this Crazy Week part 1 because I'm sure at the end of next week the title will need to be Crazy Week part 2! This was my first week back to work. It's been a good week, but oh so busy. I have sit though some great inservice and some TERRIBLE inservice. I have caught up with sweet friends, locked my keys in my car and eaten out every day. I've celebrated Leslie's birthday, met new friends and tried to accomplish something in my classroom for the first day of school (Monday). I have to say though, my favorite part of this crazy week was the prayer time we had yesterday!
Last year at the beginning of the year there was a few of us (about 7) who got together for a little pre-first day prayer time. We intended to meet again after Christmas, but it didn't happen. I definitely wanted to get everyone together again this year, so I sent out an email yesterday morning inviting everyone (our entire dept. and other friends) to eat lunch in our room and then pray with us. It was SO cool. We ended up having about 15 ladies come. We sat around in a circle of student desks and shared prayer requests. We laughed, we cried and we prayed for each other, our students, our co-workers, our administrators, our counselors...it was really awesome! What a great way to start off the school year. I feel so blessed to work in a school surrounded by Christian men and women who encourage, support and pray for me. I have made some of my best friends here.
Leslie and I left last night feeling a little frazzled and unsettled, but I know that we are ready or will be ready after a few phone calls this weekend to talk about what we're actually going to say to the kids when they come in our room, what we're going to wear, what time we're going to get there Monday morning...
It's going to be a great year!!

I'm so happy that you are surrounded with such amazing friends where you live. It makes me feel good to know they are taking good care of you since I don't live so close anymore! :0) Prayer time sounds amazing! I hope my kids have teachers like y'all in high school.
