San Antonio

I know...I'm a couple weeks behind in my posting, but what can I say?!










In June, Mindy, Suzy and I went to San Antonio for our first annual (I hope!) girls weekend. It was such a great time. I love these girls and always have a great time when we're together. It takes me back to junior high :) We left early Thursday morning and headed out. The trip there was eventful. Mindy needed to mail a package at the post office before we left and when we stopped at the Montgomery post office it was still closed. We thought for sure we'd be able to find one easily on our way. Well, after a couple failed attempts we found one! We were in a very small town. I don't even know the name. Mindy had to ask the lady working in the P.O. where we were. I think the woman thought Mindy was crazy! After successfully mailing the package we continued our trip. I had my first Buckee's bathroom experience and before we made it to San Antonio we decided to stop at the Natural Bridge Caverns Wildlife Park. Suzy had been through the park before and said it was a lot of fun. Thanks to the lady on the GPS we made it to the park. It's basically a drive-thru zoo. It was awesome! The animals are roaming free and they come right up to your car and eat out of your hand. At one point, we each had zebras sticking their heads in our windows trying to get food.























We left the park and headed to San Antonio to check into the hotel and hit the Riverwalk. We stopped by the Alamo and then took a ride on a boat around the Riverwalk. We went back to hotel to change and headed back for dinner. We had to walk a couple of blocks to get to the Riverwalk and were a little freaked out by some of the people so we decided to head back to the hotel early before dark. I'm so glad we did! As we rounded the last corner to get to the hotel we passed a group of young guys and this is what we hear "Yeah, I hear you get 25 to life for that". Pretty sure we walked VERY quickly back to the hotel after that!




Mindy had t-shirts made for us to wear to sleep in so when we got back to the room we changed and took pictures in our shirts :) Mindy and Suzy ordered cookies and milk and we sat around and talked. We were all tired and decided to go to be around 11p.m. but ended up talking some until around 1:00 a.m - slumber party style! We had just about fallen to sleep when all of a sudden we are woken up by the fire alarm!!! (Well, that and Mindy jumping out of bed yelling "Holy Crap (other word!) guys, we have to get out!" On top of that there was an automated voice saying "There is an emergency on your floor. Please exit the building. Take the stairs. Do not take the elevator." After we walked down to the lobby from the 7th floor we were told it was a false alarm! We kept getting funny looks from people and then realized that we were all wearing the same shirt!!! Goodness...


















The next morning we got up and headed to San Marcos to the Outlet Mall for some super shopping. We didn't get back to my house until around 8:00 Friday night. It was a quick trip, but SO much fun. I can't wait for our next trip.
