My last day of work was on June 4th - yes, Saturday! Boo! - which is Lance's birthday. Last year when Lance turned 30 we had just had Blake so things were a little hazy in the Roth house. This year I wanted to do something special for him. I worked half a day and then ran some errands and got ready for Lance's birthday dinner. My parents and Lance's parents and siblings (minus Katelyn who's in Nebraska) all came out for his birthday. We ordered fajitas and had a fun little Cars themed birthday. It was a Cars theme because we all went together and got Lance a Nascar Racing Experience for his birthday. One night we were watching people skydive on TV and asked Lance if he had any desire to ever do that. He said, "No, I'd rather drive a car really fast." That got me thinking that this would be a great gift for him, so at the end of July we will go to Texas Motor Speedway and Lance will get to drive a Nascar for 8 minutes as fast as he can get it :) He's pretty excited about it.
On our first Monday off, Blake and I loaded up and met up with Granny, Leslie, Owen, Mandi & Cooper at the Houston Zoo. It was a lot of fun. The boys had a great time. Blake liked the fish and the chipmunks the best. I think he liked them best because they moved around. He wasn't too impressed with the reptiles yet, but I'm sure it won't be long. It was getting really hot and he was getting worn out, so we headed home around noon. I can't wait to go back. I know there is still so much more to see.
I started Baby Bootcamp! I love it! I love getting out and exercising again. It's been a LONG time since I've done any real exercise and I have to say it feels so good to sweat. I love this group because I can take Blake with me and he is entertained by all of the moms working out and other babies. Some days I go without him though and take him to daycare to play with his friends. He has graduated to the toddler room at daycare so I'm trying to give him some time to get adjusted a little this summer. In this room they get to go outside and play (although they aren't doing much outside because it's just too dang hot right now) and they nap on mats instead of cribs.
