Where to begin?

So much has been happened over the last 11 weeks that I really don't know where to begin. I want to use this blog to chronicle all of Blake's adventures, so at some point I will have to go back and document in more detail events like his birthday :) In the mean time, I'm going to start where we are...11 weeks!

I can't believe my sweet boy is already 11 weeks old. It has been quite an adventure. I have learned so much over the past few weeks, not least of which is that no matter how prepared you think you are for motherhood, you're never totally prepared. Ready - sure, but prepared - No way!

We have attempted to breastfeed, started formula and battled (and are finally winning against!) a milk protein allergy and reflux. We have had lots of visitors. Friends and family have provided many meals and enormous amounts of love, encouragement, and support. We've had lots of firsts: bath, outings to restaurants, the mall and Target, sweet baby sounds, and smiles. We have made our first road trip to the big city of Burkburnett, TX for Granny & Grandad Littlejohn's (my grandparents) 60th Anniversary Party and had our first trip to Granny & Pa's (my parents) yesterday.

I can't believe it's almost time for me to go back to work and for Blake to start going to 'school'. I like to call it school because it makes me feel a little better about leaving him :) He is going to be going to a daycare that is close to our house. Next week we will be dropping in to hang out with his teachers and learn the routine a little bit before he goes full-time the week after next. I have such mixed feelings about going back to work. I am very excited to get back into a routine (something I have missed and craved over the last few weeks) and to see all of my friends, but I'm sad to have to leave Blake and not be with him all day. I know that he will love his 'school' and it will be a very good thing for all of us, but I also know that the first day (er, week?!) is going to be hard. So, look out friends! I'm sure there will be tears at first. I get sad just thinking about it :(

Well, so many things to update and post about but we'll have to catch up later. The babe is back to sleep and I really should be taking a little nap right now, too. Maybe I'll try to do that! :)

Hey Julie! We can comfort each other about leaving our boys at "school" while we are at work. I'll be a mess the first few days (or weeks) too. We will help each other survive! :)
