The witches of McCullough

*Cole (far left) was Barney and Cash was Fred!
*Ashley, Me, Donna & Leslie

I used to love Halloween. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, it's just that I have a different perspective now I suppose. After staying a little late at work, I got on 45 and headed north to Mindy's to see Cash and his friend Cole in their super cute Fred & Barney costumes. Traffic was terrible! I tried to call Mindy but my stupid IPhone (yes, stupid! I do not like it!) would not let me place a phone call. When my phone does this (and it does this regularly - dad-gum phone) the text still works, so I text Mindy to see what time they are planning to leave because I just might be late. I ended up getting there in plenty of time to see the kids and eat a quick piece of pizza (saved my life) and get back on the road.

I didn't get to stay long because I wanted to get to Montgomery to vote by 7:00. Mindy told me how to get to the place in Willis, but I thought I'd have enough time to get home. On the way home I hit every light on 105 (took a left instead of right and ended up at 830 instead of 1097 like Toby told me. Oh well...). It was 6:55 and I was sitting at the light at April Sound. At this point I'm just laughing and telling God that if I'm really not supposed to vote early that's OK, but I would REALLY like to get it over with so I would really love it if he could make these lights green. Well, got through the light at April Sound and then hit red lights at Old River Rd AND Walden Rd! Are you kidding me?!!! I pulled into the parking lot at the library and ran inside - literally RAN. They let me in and as I walked up to the end of the line it was 7:00 p.m. exactly! I was the last person to vote, but I made it.

I got home and as soon as I walked in the door kids were knocking. Lance got home and we decided we were too tired to have any Halloween spirit at this point and it was not fun trying to settle the dogs every time the doorbell rang, so we turned the light off and hid! Even with the light off kids were knocking. They quit once I told them we were out of candy :) It was then that I decided that when we have kids they are going to the Fall Festival at church, not trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. I think it's much safer that way - safer for the kids and my sanity!
