Lance and I are waiting on Ike to make his appearance. We've prepared as much as possible and now we're just killing time and waiting for the storm to come through. I just heard on the news that the eye of the storm is supposed to pass through our neck of the woods. Should make for an interesting night tonight and day tomorrow. Just wanted to let everyone know that we're here, hunkering down at home.
My mom is at M.D. Anderson with Granny and Grandad. On a side note, Granny is doing really well. Thank you so much for all of your emails, phone calls and text messages. I really appreciate all of the prayers. God is good and is providing for our family. I talked to my mom earlier and they have the hospital on lock down. They have given family members a bracelet to wear so that hospital officials know they are supposed to be in the hospital. I'm very thankful that Granny is there during all of this mess. I feel better knowing that she's there with the doctors.
My dad is at home in Kingwood. He is so cute. He's been getting the house ready for the last day or so. He said today that he gave our neighbor and good friend, Dave, on of this walkie talkies so they can keep in touch when the power goes out. I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sure if it's for safety for just for fun! :)
I haven't talked to Chad in a few days, but I ask mom and dad about him everyday. He's doing well. He's been working overtime at the plant helping with the shut down. He's hunkering down on his side of town tonight.
I'll keep you all posted as the storm comes and goes. Lance and I don't have a home phone, so we'll be able to reach people as long as our cell phones last :) If you don't hear from us just assume we're doing great. I'll post again when I can.
Stay safe!
